From the book description:
They murdered Tom’s parents and left him for dead. They should’ve made sure. That night shattered twelve-year-old Tom Lewis. He grew into a man brain-damaged, silent—a ghost of himself.
But the bullet also created something else. Jimmy Blue. Cold. Brilliant. Merciless. For twenty years, he’s been waiting. Watching. Planning.
And now the hunt begins.
One by one, the men who thought they got away with murder will learn who stalks them in the dark. As bodies fall and the city trembles, Tom clings to the last scraps of his humanity—while Jimmy delivers the only justice he trusts. You’ll root for him. You’ll fear him. And you won’t be able to look away.
Dark, brutal, and impossible to put down, Winter Falls is book one of award-winning Ian W. Sainsbury’s Jimmy Blue Revenge Thrillers—a vigilante series with a psychological edge. Readers who love Jack Reacher and Dexter will find their next obsession in Jimmy Blue.

My thoughts:
It’s a really well-told story, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters of both men are believable, and it’s interesting to hear the internal voices and to watch the changes back and forth. There’s an obvious parallel to Jeckyll and Hyde, but this is an entirely different story, not a ripoff. In fact, that comparison didn’t occur to me until after I finished reading.
I thought there was a slightly dodgy moment about halfway through when it seemed the story was coming to an end, and I feared it was going to be stretched out just to bulk out the number of pages. I was wrong. It was all part of the development. It helped make the ending less predictable.
Winter Falls is full of action. The violence is particularly well handled. It’s a bit like watching a movie, and that’s fine with me. Sometimes I like to be challenged, sometimes I just like to relax and enjoy the ride. It’s not Reacher or Dexter, but it is an easy read, and it does race along. I would definitely recommend it.
Winter Falls is available in ebook and paperback here.
